A Message from the President (August 2015)

Dear Members of APSN,

It's just over twelve months to the 2016 APCN in Perth (17-21 September). A first-rate scientific program has been designed and speakers are now being invited. The quality of the meeting and the beauty of Perth and Western Australia make it a meeting you won't want to miss!

Yet another successful APSN CME meeting was held recently, this time in Pattaya, Thailand in early August. Thanks to Masaomi Nangaku and the local organisers, the meeting was a grand success. PDFs of the various talks are available on the APSN website, as they are for previous CME meetings. APSN helped subsidise the attendance of young nephrologists from emerging regions of Thailand and neighbouring emerging countries. The next APSN CME meeting will be held in China in November.

APSN's partnership with the ISN global outreach program is functioning well. Successful applicants in each of the programs (fellowship, sister renal centre, educational ambassador, CME, clinical research) are listed on the website.

The website is currently being upgraded to provide a better platform which will enhance functionality and make navigation easier. You should see the new changes soon.

The publisher of APSN's journal Nephrology (Wiley) has assumed that there is almost universal access to the journal for APSN members. However this seems far from certain and so all national society representatives have been polled to see just how many members of their societies do have access.

Warm regards,

David Harris
